WEATHER

No matter when you choose to visit, you’ll find that the weather in Southlake is perfect for nearly any activity you’d like to enjoy.

Seasonal Activities

Mid-spring afternoons are perfect for visiting our annual Art in the Square festival, or for enjoying a glass of wine on the porch of one of our many delicious restaurants or wine bars. Mornings and evenings are cool and pleasant.

Summer in Texas can best be enjoyed in the cooler mornings and evenings, and the golf courses and nearby Grapevine Lake are popular destinations. You can then cool off while exploring our many shops; and in July, beat the summer heat with ice cream or a smoothie while you watch our annual Independence Day fireworks display.

Crisp fall days mark the return of cooler weather and are great for picnics in our parks. The temperatures and gentle change of seasons make a perfect environment for our Oktoberfest celebration in the Southlake Town Square.

Finally, our cool winters and beautiful city-wide décor set a lovely scene for holiday shopping.

Season Low High Rainfall

Seasonal Concerns

Even our generally good weather has its exceptions. The most common weather hazards in North Texas are heat and storms, and both of these can be easily managed by being aware of the current weather and taking some basic precautions.

During the summer, the two keys to fun in the sun are sunscreen and water. By protecting your skin from sunburn and staying hydrated, you can take full advantage of our long, clear summer days.

To protect from possible storm hazards, check the weather before going out for the day and plan your day according to the forecast. Severe storms are not limited to any season, but they are more common in spring and autumn -- be aware of the expected conditions and respect the forecaster's warnings when planning outdoor activities.
