Southlake and the entire Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex require 10-digit dialing -- you will need to dial the area code and the seven-digit phone number for all local calls.

Our area code is 817, which is the primary area code in Tarrant County; the secondary area code for Tarrant County is 682. The downtown Dallas area is 214, and the surrounding Dallas and Collin County areas use 972.  In Denton and further west, the 940 area code is used.

Long distance calls (those outside the 817 and682 area)  require using 1+ the area code and phone number. Should you require a calling card, you’ll find them available at area convenience stores and drug stores.

Southlake enjoys excellent cellular coverage for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel and T-Mobile, which means you should have no problems staying in touch while out and about. 

In addition, many venues in Southlake offer wireless access, making connecting to the internet easier than ever. Hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and our downtown area are just some of the many places you’ll be able to stay in touch with home. Access is free in many of these locations.
